- Like many who come to DC, Colin
began with an internship on Capitol
Hill…and ended up with a gratifying
career in a completely different
field.
He started part-time at the
(former) Ritz-Carlton on 21st
Street and soon became Head Concierge.
After seven years he moved to
the Historic Jefferson Hotel, where he
served as Head Concierge for nine
years. Since September of 2001 he has
been Concierge Manager for the largest
office building in the District, the
Ronald Reagan Building and
International Trade Center.
Here he manages a staff that
covers six concierge desks and the
weekly shows of the Capitol Steps.
He has been actively involved
in Les Clefs d’Or since early in his
career as both a Concierge member and
now an Affiliate Member, he has also
served on the Board of the Washington
Area Concierge Association as
Secretary and currently as Treasurer.
His recipe for success in the
concierge industry id to “do the
best job you can do at whatever you
are doing, and make the individual you
are currently helping feel le he or
she is the only person in your
world…”
